Whole Foods Market announced today that it's launching a sustainability-rating program for wild-caught seafood in partnership with Blue Ocean Institute and Monterey Bay Aquarium.
So what does this mean? It means you'll see the color-coded chart below at your local Whole Foods Market, and labels next to each item in the seafood case: green for Best Choice, yellow for Good Alternative, and red for Avoid. Whole Foods has also pledged to eliminate all red-list seafood by Earth Day 2013.
