I grew up drinking green tea. My Obachan (Japanese grandma) and I used to sit and have tea in the afternoon, with a sweet morsel that had been sent from Japan from one of my aunts. We sipped the tea, and my grandmother would share stories of her childhood with me.
Every year my Obachan sends me a package of the finest green tea from Japan, and even though we no longer get to share our daily afternoon tea, she and her stories have given me an appreciation for tradition and ceremony. I can't help but to think of her and smile as I sip this green tea smoothie.
- 2 cups frozen pineapple
- handful of spinach
- about 8 mint leaves
- ¼ cup hemp seeds, raw
- ¼ cup cold green tea
- ½ cup coconut milk
Combine all ingredients in a blender. Make sure pineapple is on the bottom.
Blend on high for 45 seconds, until creamy.
Enjoy by the pool on a hot summer day!
