Simple Sweet Potato Fries For Super Bowl Sunday
Nothing screams Super Bowl Sunday like a bowl of chips, and this year you can be proud to partake in the food festivities by baking a batch of these irresistible sweet potato snacks.
Sweet potatoes are high in fiber, as well as antioxidants like beta-carotene, so they keep you full, make your skin glow, and fight diseases like cancer. So simple and easy to make, too, they're a party pleaser that will have you going back for seconds (or thirds) without an ounce of guilt attached.
So no matter if your team loses, you win!
Ingredients (I recommend doubling this recipe since these will go fast!)
- 3 medium/large organic sweet potatoes
- 1 ½ Tbsp. safflower oil
- ¼ tsp. sea salt
- Sprinkle of pepper
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Slice sweet potatoes into thin slices (about ¼ centimeters thick). For crispier chips, it is good to use a mandoline slicer, though I prefer them to be a little thicker and juicer, and any size will turn out well.
Place slices in large Ziploc bag with safflower oil, close Ziploc and mix well.
Move slices to foil lined baking sheet. Sprinkle with sea salt and pepper.
Bake for 22-26 minutes, flipping once halfway through. Edges should be browned and chips dried, but remove from oven once browning inside of chip occurs.
