A Vegan, Alcohol-Free Take On A White Russian: The Dudette!

I recently vacationed in New Orleans and became deeply enamored of their daiquiri culture. My local girlfriend recommended the White Russian, which I hesitantly went after since I don’t do so well with dairy. It was absolutely delicious, but I knew it wouldn’t settle well in the long run. Hey — what happens in New Orleans stays in New Orleans. Or something.

Point being, I knew I had to come home and create a non-alcoholic, vegan version, and I'm very happy with my results. This is my ode to the White Russian, the Caucasian or, as I’d like to call my version — The Dudette. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup coconut milk (regular, from a can)
  • 1 cup latte-flavored coconut water
  • 1/2 cup raw hazelnuts
  • 4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 tsp chocolate extract
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ice
  • *shot of Kahlua if you want to turn it into a cocktail :)

Directions:

Place all your ingredients except ice into a blender and blend until smooth. Pour over ice if you wan’t to go classic, or add ice and blend until desired consistency for a daiquiri!
