A Holiday Green Smoothie To Soothe Your Soul

Wondering if you’ve been naughty or nice this year? Don’t fret. This protein-rich, superfood smoothie will put you at the top of Santa’s list! And here’s why…

That gorgeous green hue comes from spirulina, a complete protein containing all the essential amino acids. It’s rich in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), and also provides alpha-linolenic acid (ALA).

As for that spoonful of bee pollen, it has antibiotic properties that can help protect the body from contracting viruses. Just in time for cold and flu season.

Goji berries also contain natural anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and anti-fungal compounds. It’s no wonder that in traditional Chinese medicine they are renowned for increasing strength and longevity. If vitality is your aim, this is your berry.

  • 1/2 – 1 cup frozen bananas
  • 1 – 1½ cup frozen pineapple
  • 2 cups almond milk*
  • 1 tablespoon spirulina
  • 1 tablespoon bee pollen
  • 5 – 10 drops vanilla stevia
  • Garnish: shredded coconut and goji berries

Blend until smooth. Garnish with shredded coconut and goji berries. Enjoy!

*Sometimes I shake things up and cut the almond milk with coconut water for an electrolyte boost.
