It doesn’t get much better than lavender. Just the scent alone is beautiful, but there are so many other benefits of this amazing little flower that shouldn’t be taken for granted. Perhaps you already have some lavender candles in your home? Got dandruff? Lavender oil can be used to soothe a dry scalp.

Feeling stressed? Scientists have found that the smell of lavender lowers heart rate and reduces blood pressure. Keep some at your desk for a quick, calming session before that important presentation in front of all your co-workers. Does your digestion need some help? Lavender combats bad gut bacteria.

Lavender aromatherapy candles, oils, and sachets are quite easy to come by. Simple ways to incorporate lavender into your diet are not. How about a smoothie that will calm your nerves, promote a healthy gut, and knock your socks off?

Lavender-Blueberry-Lemon Smoothie

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 1/2 cups almond milk

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried lavender flowers
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon zest
  • 2 teaspoons chia seeds

Combine all and blend thoroughly. Sip and be confident, grateful, and calm.
