Sugar-Free Recipe: Strawberry Green Popsicles
Summer is the season for icy-cold treats. But, as a parent, I want my son to enjoy them without the artificial flavors, colorings, food dyes, processed sugars, preservatives and additives. So what's a mom to do? Homemade popsicles to the rescue!
These popsicles are so easy and simple that you’ll have fun making them. And the cool part is that you can add a vegetable or two and get some healthy nutrition, and they still taste yummy.
I've tried several different combinations of fruits and vegetables while making these popsicles and my son loves them all. Here is one that I’d like to share with you.
Sugar-free Strawberry Green Popsicles
- 2 cups Strawberries (raspberries or other berries can also be used)
- 1 cup Spinach (any leafy greens can be used)
- ½ cup Coconut Water
- 2/3 cup Water
Blend all ingredients together in a blender or nutribullet.
You can adjust the coconut water to your level of sweetness. Add more coconut water if you like your popsicle sweet or less if not too sweet.
Pour into popsicle molds and freeze for 3 to 4 hours.
When ready, remove from freezer. Immerse the popsicle mold in some warm water for it to loosen.
Pull out and enjoy!
Knowing that the treat my child is enjoying is all natural and healthy makes it that much more sweeter for me.
