Roger Federer exited Wimbledon on Wednesday and it's no secret he's been dealing with injuries and hasn't been playing well. Whether you're a fan of Federer or not, you have to admit that this guy is a fierce competitor. Here are three great quotes following his loss at Wimbledon:
1. "I do think that I can get back to a position of dominance. That's why I'm here."
2. "God, I can't wait for Paris and Wimbledon to come around next year because they've been frustrating tournaments for me this year."
3. "Once I enter the court, I am there to battle and to try to win with what I've got..."
As a result of the loss, Federer will fall to No. 3 in the world rankings for the first time in almost seven years. Some speculate he's past his prime (at 28-years-old - give us a break!), but champions like Roger don't just fade away.
Here's a bonus quote to prove he's keeping a level head about him:
"True, Rafa's played terribly lately. Djokovic can't play tennis anymore, it seems like. Murray is in pieces. Berdych can't keep it together for more than one match."
Perhaps there's still some juice left in those ancient bones. Ha!
