DIY: 3 Facials You Can Make In Your Kitchen
Want gorgeous, glowing skin? Look no further than your kitchen! You probably have all ingredients you'll need to whip up some natural, effective skin treatments. I prefer my ingredients to be organic and sustainable, but feel free to experiment with what you already have.
- 1 avocado
- 1 TBSP of olive oil
- 1 TBSP of Jajoba oil
Preparation: Mash together ingredients in a bowl or food processor until smooth.
Massage the mixture into hair or skin and leave on for 10 to 15 minutes or longer.
Rinse off in shower
Benefits: Fights aging, smooths skin, and is packed with essential vitamins and nutrients.
Manuka Honey Facial
- 100% raw, active Manuka honey or you can use a local, raw honey
Preparation: Scoop a tablespoon of the honey into your hand and spread on clean face and neck.
Rinse off with warm water and pat face dry with a clean towel.
Benefits: Manuka honey is from New Zealand and Australia and is known for its antibacterial and healing properties. It's also the purist honey in the world.
Turmeric Powder Facial
- 1 TBSP of turmeric powder
- 1 TBSP of honey or 1/4 Tsp of water
Preparation: Mix until it makes a paste.
Apply mask with fingertips until entire face is covered.
Leave on for 10 minutes. (Avoid contact with clothing and eyes, as turmeric stains. However, it does not stain the face.)
Rinse off with warm water and pat face dry on a dark colored clean towel.
Benefits: Anti-Inflammatory properties. Turmeric is also known to help stop the growth of cancer cells when ingested in its concentrated form Curcumin.
