Heidi M. Parton was trained as an attorney but lives as a poet.
With two children in college and one preschooler, she is intimately aware of
how quickly the state of childhood evaporates. Now remarried, she has traded in
business lunches for a rather delightful three-year old lunch partner. While late nights and early mornings are spent
writing a creative nonfiction book about her years as a single parent, she enjoys days spent
reading 87 different books about dinosaurs, trips to the science museum, and outings to the neighborhood library. She practices gratitude and humor to stay as fully present as possible
to the chaos and messiness of motherhood as it all unfolds around her.
