Why 'No Skipping Meals' Is Part Of My Philosophy

August 21, 2018

As a cookbook author and the creator of food blog Love & Lemons, I spend my time working at home on projects or at the farmers market sourcing ingredients for a new recipe. So for me, on the job, no two days are alike—except in how full they are.

It would be too easy to skip a meal for the sake of getting work done, but part of my "no-shortcuts" philosophy is making sure that I'm getting the sustenance and nutrition I need on a daily basis. In fact, one of my favorite things to do (especially when the weather's just right) is to walk around my Chicago neighborhood. It's often on these walks that I'll get a boost of creativity or find new inspiration, so I'll sit with a GōL Bar to take in the moment. I always head home nourished and ready to tackle whatever's next—like what's for dinner.
