Three of my favorite authors, Deepak Chopra, Debbie Ford, and Marianne Williamson, appeared on the 'CBS Early Show' to discuss their new book, The Shadow Effect. A "shadow" is a repressed part of ourselves that can ruin our chances of success -- and if we're able to uncover our "shadow", we're capable of achieving our dreams. Each author also shared their shadows on the show.
Deepak Chopra's "shadow" is his addictive personality: "I used to rescue a patient after a heart attack and then go outside and smoke a cigarette. Or get smashed on the weekend. I even tried LSD and mushrooms and all of that. But at a certain point, I said, 'How can I take advantage of this, and really, now, I'm obsessed with, addicted to energy, to creativity, to spirituality and look at what it's done for me."
Marianne Williamson's "shadow" is being too tough if someone is messing with her and Debbie Ford said she has many shadows!
