3 Easy Tips to Practice Yoga at Home

Set up your home studio in minutes.

Tired of class? Is the commute too much? Kids taking up all your time?

Good news is that you don't need to trek to yoga class to reap all of the benefits that yoga has to offer. All you need is just 20 minutes of practice and you are good to go!

Here's our quick three step guide to setting up your own yoga studio at home:

1. Get a yoga mat... Yep, any mat will do. But you're going to own this one so make sure it's comfortable and durable.

2. Pick a DVD... If you've been practicing yoga for a while you can come up with 20 minutes of poses for your workout, but it still never hurts to purchase a yoga DVD to switch things up. If you're new to yoga then a DVD is a must. We here at MBG recommend picking up Barbara Benagh's DVD, Yoga for Beginners.

3. Find a quiet place... Turn off the phone, shut down the laptop, clear the furniture, and make time and space for your workout without interruption. This can be a tough one, but it's important to make sure you are focused as you work out. You may even want to light a candle so you have a focus point for your eyes.

Practicing yoga at home is very practical, convenient and affordable. But it can sometimes be difficult if your practice area is carpeted. Carpet is often too soft and slippery for many poses. And yoga mats on carpet tend to move and 'bunch up'. A new yoga accessory called LifeBoard solves this problem. The LifeBoard is an affordable and portable yoga floor that provides a rigid platform to enhance yoga practice at home on carpet or outdoors anywhere. It's lightweight, about 17 lbs, and is just a little larger than a yoga mat. More information is at http://www.getlifeboard.com Namaste Jim
