They are delicious. They are green. They might be parked outside your office right now.
Food trucks are all the rage days as gourmands are taking their delectable and fresh offerings to the streets -- and right to your office.
Most food trucks will alert their customers of their whereabouts via Twitter and you might even find people lining up (and salivating) on the street before the truck even arrives.
Not only are many food trucks focused on bringing organic and local fare to their customers, but the trucks themselves happen to be eco-friendly. Here are three deliciously awesome and eco-friendly food trucks to check out:
1. Green Truck (LA & NYC)

Probably the most famous of the bunch, according to their website, Green Truck is "100% green - from our packaging to our produce to our solar-powered commissary. Our trucks are powered on vegetable oil and bio-diesel, naturally". Their Banana Pancakes with Coconut Agave Syrup have me salivating.
2. On the Fly (Washington DC)

You will find these eco-friendly carts all around the Mall in DC, i.e., the tourist traps surrounding all the monuments. On the Fly's "'smartkarts' are zero-emission plug-in trucks and the company sources locally to mitigate carbon emissions and stock organically farmed, chemical-free food whenever possible."
3. Clover Food Truck (Cambridge, MA)

Founded by a MIT grad with a fondness for food trucks, the Clover Food Truck has a number of delicious options for the discerning vegetarian. Though the menu is constantly changing, one thing is for sure: whatever is being served will be organic, local, or both.
