Q & A with Amanda Freeman: Wellness Trends & Favorites

Are you looking to find out what the latest and greatest fitness trend is? Then you might want to talk to Amanda Freeman, the co-founder of VitalJuice, a daily email newsletter delivering fitness and wellness news right to your email inbox every day. We talked to Amanda about her favorite wellness spots and what hot trends and products we should be on the lookout for in 2010.  Here's what she had to say:

MindBodyGreen: What wellness trends should we be on the lookout for in 2010?

Amanda Freeman:
Salba – The Omega 3’s, fiber and antioxidants in this super powerful strain of chia seeds far eclipse anything flaxseeds can claim. The latest superfood adds a major health boost to anything it’s sprinkled on.

Breathwork Coaching – While breathing seems like something that is innate to us, the truth is most people aren’t doing it right. There is an emerging breed of breathwork coaches who teach people how to maximize each breath to achieve true relaxation.

Arm-focused workouts – Most workouts used to be all about the glutes, then they became core-focused…now it’s all about the arms. Maybe thanks to Michelle Obama, toned arms are all the rage and workouts that focus on building arm muscles are everywhere.

Choreography dance classes – Who hasn’t fantasized about being a rock star with killer vocals and dance moves?  More choreography-based dance classes where you learn moves to your favorite music videos are popping up at gyms and dance studios everywhere.

Sleep-enhancing products – More products are hitting the market that promise to help you fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer or get more beautiful while you sleep.
