Did you know that Jim Carrey is a deeply spiritual guy? He's actually a huge fan of Eckhart Tolle and has been releasing a series of videos for Tolle (like this previous one on visualization and intention).
In this particular video, Carrey starts off talking about the power of our thoughts, and says "It's like riding a wave, sometimes I'm on, sometimes I'm off but at least I know where I want to go."
He goes on to speak about how, as a little kid, his mother was suffering from a number of physical ailments including arthritis and depression. Jim said he "wanted her to be free and realize that her life was worth something." Young Jim would go into his room with his legal pad and try to figure out what life and suffering were all about. One day he read something from Buddha that said, "All spirituality is about relieving suffering" and he "suddenly realized, that's what I'm doing in the other room" with his mother.
He looks at that moment as a life-changing one that forever shaped his views on spirituality and his purpose.
